1 Mile Run in Memory of Brady Jensen

September 21, 2024 @ 9:00am starting at the Shops At Riverwoods in Provo.

The race will raise money for the Brady Jensen Scholarship Fund. At thirteen years old, the day Brady went into the hospital he had finished a 1-mile race in just over 5 minutes. At the time he had a sinus infection. It is extremely rare, but it can spread to the brain causing encephalitis. He passed away from viral encephalitis, meningitis and swelling of the brain 13 days later. In memory of Brady and his final race, we will be having a 1-mile run to celebrate his life and raise money for college scholarships. We have wanted to do something in his memory and the 20th anniversary of his passing felt like the right time for the first scholarship to be awarded.

  • 100% of the donations will go into an endowment fund to generate revenue for the scholarships each year. Brady Jensen Memorial Foundation is a 501c3.

  • Businesses who are interested in helping sponsor the scholarship can contact us directly to become partners. We will work out details with each company to give them recognition.

The Brady Jensen Memorial Foundation

A scholarship fund established in memory of Brady Michael Jensen. The Brady Jensen Memorial Foundation will award scholarships to qualified graduating seniors from Timpview High School, Provo High School, and Orem High School.

Brady Jensen

Brady was born on November 4, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kib and Lisa Jensen. He was a student in 8th grade at Centennial Middle School where he was a student body officer. A month prior to his passing, when asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he wrote, "I want to be kind". He had a feisty side that gave him his competitive nature, but he was kind and had a lot of love to give. He was a great athlete, excelling in soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, football, or any other sport he wanted to play. He was also an excellent student with a curious and inquiring mind. Brady returned to his Heavenly Father on October 26, 2005, after contracting viral encephalitis. Through this scholarship fund, Brady’s love of life will live on.
